Hello everybody newbie here and first post!

Has anybody had any problems with Commodore 128 64K VDC RAM Upgrade?

Thanks

Do you mean other than the fact that I tried to shoehorn it into the VIC II socket instead of the VDC socket and swore, mangled the RF shield, and broke the corner off the VIC socket before I figured out I was in the wrong place?

No, no problems at all. :)

Seriously, do it. It's easy if you're in the right socket.  Despite all that abuse, it works great!

I assume you're using the CLD card? You can buy if from Centsible software sometimes:

or have it shipped from the UK by allee:
http://stores.ebay.com/The-Commodore-Store
(her store seems to be empty right now, which is weird as she usually has dozens of items for sale...)

That't my problem I bought one form Centsible software and it don't pass the software test with the software that comes with it!

Centsible software wants me to pay postage to send it back!

That really sucks when you buy a new item from them and pay for postage and
they send you a defective item and them want you to pay postage to send it back!

More in freight charges than the thing is worth!

He does not even know how to install it!    BUYER BEWARE when buying form him!

Have you tried the following BASIC program in 80 column mode?
http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm/64kvram.txt

POKE DEC("D600"),28:POKE DEC("D601"),63:SYS DEC("FF62"):SCNCLR

If the screen says: READY and looks normal, you have 64K of VRAM. If you
have only 16K, the screen will fill up with zeros.

If it still fails take a look at the solder work on the board you purchased. These boards are most likely recent clones of the original version. There may be a pin that hasn't been soldered correctly. Try not to overheat any of the RAM chips as they will fail in no time.

I got mine from allee in the UK. It was brand new. It works great.

Though I've been off of eBay for some time, I've always had good buying experiences from Alee.

That's my bad as I have done a lot of business with Alee and he is the greatest that I have seen as of yet!

At the time I decided to buy one Alee was out and I was trying to save on the postage from UK as I live in USA!

I have bought several things form centsisoft with no problems, but you are as good as your support and his sucks!

Thanks
