Guys,

Back when the forums started I instigated a chat session which was terribly popular.

Now the board is bigger, I reckon we can start again. To this end there is now an IRC running here (landover.no-ip.com port 6667)

Obviously you can create your own channels, but I reckon we should probably stick to some naming conventions :)

So, the "always open" one will be called 128 - drop in anytime (/join #128).

Still, it'd be nice to have specified time (or times) for a regular chat session - what do we think ?

I agree.  Weekly would be great.  I vote Saturday nights starting at 9pm EST through whenever.  What software are you running for an IRC server anyway?

May need to do two though - Saturday at 9pm AEST is great for me as well - dunno what that translates to in Europe & USA.

9pm EST conflicts with the #c64friends chat which is arguably the most popular Commodore chat. Usually a good 50-60 people. Perhaps another night/time might be advisable.
Call me Golan; my parents did.

That's Australian Eastern Standard Time I should probably point out.

Right but xlar54 had suggested 9pm EST (GMT-5) which will impede participation. I fear that the time difference(s) is going to make this quite difficult to arrange. :(

Any chance of archiving interesting portions of the chats? The thing I like about forums is that what you write stays around for the future rather than disappearing once you close the window. Anyone can come along months or even years later and build upon what was written earlier.

Yep - but we need to agree on some times first.
