I've got a very nice 1571 up for auction on eBay right now...  See the auction page here.

I've also got several other nice items up for auction right now...  See everything I'm currently offering here.

I've got my eye on the homebrew RS232 interface. I love homebrew stuff. :)

Too bad. I just sold these:

Two out of three were as homebrewed as they come. Heck, the one on the left was in a cassette tape case! You would have loved them. :)

Golan, I like the see-through plastic look of those.  :)

This is the interface that I have up for auction that Airship was referring to:

This was made from the casing of an old Westridge Communications 300 baud modem...  Here's the "before" shot:

And no... before anyone asks... That's not the same modem in the two photos...  The "before" shot is just the same model that someone else has up for auction right now on eBay.  :)

Andrew, the programmer you have will fit in the modem case with some modifications.

Thanks for the tip, Dan...  I've actually got some other items here that would work just as well...  Vicmodems and the like.  ;)

No, I laid the board out to fit the Westridge modem case. But you have to lower the top part of the case because it is too thick (high).

I'll have to dig out the other old modem I've got. I think it might be that one, or very close to it.

BTW, the latest Promenade on eBay just sold today for $108.50. The previous two sold day before yesterday for $74.95 and $79.95 'Buy it Now' prices. Both of those were from the same seller (the more expensive one had docs). The only thing for sale right now is a set of docs for the Promenade; starting bid is $8.59 Canadian.

The cheapest Promenade to sell recently was that one on Oct. 30 for $46.57.

That 'EPROM Programmer's Handbook' that sold recently on eBay for $85.86 went to alee, so I'm sure we'll see photocopies available in her eBay store soon. I hope she puts a reasonable price on them, i.e. $20 instead of $50. :(

I have a copy of the EPROM Programmers Guide and the Manual for the Promenade C1 and scematics in pdf form. If you want a copy, I'll email them to you.

Please do, Dan. I'd love to get them into the PDF Library.

Unfortunately, I'm dirt poor until the end of the year, so even at $5 I won't be bidding on Andrew's ultra-cool homebrew RS232 adapter. I blew the current (very tight!) toy budget on those PD disks I just picked up. Things will be better after Christmas, but I'm trying to pay off everything (except the car) this year. It's tough staying on this self-imposed budget, but it will (literally) pay off later in the ability to buy MANY more toys than I can now. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway. :(

I think I've got a couple of 1650 modems around here if you need one.

She is a he and his name is Tim and if you don't want to pay for his photocopied printouts, you can print a copy out for yourself because I'm going to do you a favour. You can download a copy of The EPROM Programmer's Handbook in PDF form by clicking here. Enjoy!

P.S. That was my good deed for the day. I will now return to being surly.

Cool! Thank you both!

PS What do you have to be surly about, Golan? You've got all the toys in the world, and you know everybody in it besides! :)

Do you know the story about the frog and the scorpion? It's my nature.

airship

LOL! Yep, I know that one! Unfortunately, I'm always the frog! :D

The site that Golan gave you is a scanned PDF version (8.7Meg).

I OCR'd the handbook and have it in MSWord 97-2000 (2.6Meg) file and
PDF (2.1Meg) file.

Let me know if you still want it.

I wouldn't mind copies in alternate form, Dan. Could you upload them to one of the free file sharing sites or if you want, I'll put them on my site along with the other scan.

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send them to you.

Do you want the Promenade manual too?

Dan...

airship

I would love to have 'em, but if Golan is putting them up I can get them there like everyone else. Thanks, Dan!
