I have put my Lt Kernal hard drive up for auction on eBay.  This is in excellent working condition, and it comes with the 128 daughterboard required to connect to a C128!

This is a TRUE auction, with a starting bid of only 99ยข!  No reserve!  No Buy-It-Now!  No high starting bid!

Check out the auction page here.

BTW - This arrived to me with a damaged case and a bad power supply, so I swapped the parts in the original case with the case of an identical looking Xetec FastTrak (Amiga) hard drive.  That's for you "attention to detail" types.  ;)

Heh, I didn't know the casings were one in the same.  :-)

Yup... The cases and internal power supplies are identical.  I just swapped out the hard drive (which gave YOUR Lt Kernal new life, Robert), as well as the SCSI adapter (which is different between the two), and like magic, I made a brand new Lt Kernal hard drive.

The guy who sold me the damaged one claims it was not damaged when he sent it to me. He did pack it well, and he wrote "FRAGILE" on the package about 10 times... And still it arrived damaged.  It just saddens me to think of what kind of hell these things go through in the mail.  Don't they know that our vintage computer hardware is PRECIOUS?!  :tillfreds:

Surprise, surprise - if he wins it he'll put it up for 16 times the price & claim it's because it's a one-off.

Anyone care to have a poll on how high this auction will go?  Considering the last CMD hard drive went for $485 I would expect this auction to break at least $300.
My rig: C-128 w/JD SCPU, uIEC/SD, CMD-HD (500 MB), CMD-HD ZIP drive, CMD RAMLink, 1750XL 2 MB REU, FD-2000, 1581, Turbo232

Thanks! :D

This will be my first "real" Commodore hard drive. I've only ever used 64HDD Pro.

I came across this site the other day; Computer Station http://home.pon.net/amc/commodore.htm.  Their prices are pretty outrageous (not sure they are current) but one item listed under the Commodore Hardware for Sale caught my eye.  "20 MB HD for Commodore".  I sent a note to them for more details on this piece of hardware and their response was:
"This is a rare Commodore hard drive and the only one we have, brand new.

Xetec
Lt. Kernal
The Ultimate Hard Drive System
for the Commodore 64 & 128
"

The price listed is $399.00, again not sure if that is current or negotiable but who knows. So if someone is really keen on picking up a Lt. Kernal...

Their telephone listed on the site is: (562) 595-0899
