Hello,
I just received a 1571 drive from the US, where the power supply standard is 110V@60Hz. Here in Italy we have 220V@50Hz. On the bottom side of the drive it say 117V AC 60Hz.

Since I don't want to fry my new drive, I'd like to see if anybody has had the same problem. I know most modern electronic devices work regardless the US or EU standard, but I'm not sure about my 1571.

thanks,
Ready.

The 1571 doesn't have a switchable supply. Even if you find an adapter, DON'T try to plug it in!

You need a 220v to 110V converter, complete with the proper power plug adapter for your country. They sell them at luggage stores and airports for travelers, as well as online. Make sure you get one that can handle the power requirements of the 1571, as most of them are made for running electric shavers and other small travel appliances of that sort. The frequency shouldn't be a problem as the power supply converts it all to DC anyway.

Just for example, this one from Amazon is only $10, but I don't know if it's powerful enough to run a 1571 or not:

But it would be better to just locate a European 1571 supply if you can. Maybe eBay.it? Good luck!

Hello,
good news. I bought a voltage converter 45W (enough for 1571 which sucks 350mA @ 110V, which means 38.5W) 220-240VAC to 100-120VAC and it works great. This device converts also frequency, even if 50 or 60Hz should not be a problem, as written inside the 1571 on the power supply label: input 110VAC 50-60Hz.
