Anyone know what Kickstart ROM is needed to run WB 2.04?  I have found 3.1 ROM, but I dont know if this will work in the A500.  I dont think the 1.3 ROM will run WB 2.04.

From what I remember ther is a 2.04 ROM

Correct, but you need to be aware that 2.04 has differences for the A600 for hard drive support that may not be the same as the A500.

You would need KS 2.04 (which one of my A500s has).

Yes, a KS 3.1 ROM for the A500/2000 will work in an A500.  I have another A500 that has this.

The A600 used KS 2.05.

2.04 as well in the original non-HD variety.

You could just softkick it. Save yourself a lot of hassles.
Call me Golan; my parents did.

The ide controller support in kickstart can cope with the hardware not being there. It could also cope with autoconfig hardware which didn't exist on the a600.

I ran kickstart 2.05 for a while on my a500. I switched to kickstart 3.0 when I got my hands on an a1200.

There were some problems running kickstart 3.0 without AGA, IIRC SetPatch eventually sorted that out.
I bought an os 3.1 upgrade from village tronic as soon as they became available.

I never bothered with os 3.5/os 3.9 at the time because I'd got what I needed and then moved on. So I can't comment on how they run on an a500.

Yeah, it's supposedly possible to run 3.5/3.9, but I've never tried it with my accelerated A500.

Something to do when I remember,  :-)
