C64 stuff

There seems to be a few C64 topics creeping in that aren't specifically related to the 128's 64 mode. No big deal as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone have any major objections if I create a C64-specific sub-forum (not a collection of ones like for the 128 obviously) ?

I don't mind it. Saves me from having to visit multiple forums to find out what's happening in the 64 world.

We've got a CP/M forum, so why not a C64 forum? GO64 is a limited topic, and lots of other C64 info is relevant to the C128.

Just as, for example, when you learn something about monkeys that also applies to humans.

No contest. The 128 *IS* a 64 *AND* CPM *AND* 128... its like a machine with an identity crisis.

Hmmm.... CP/M:

The C64 can run CP/M 2.2 can the 128 do that ? (well, the C64 can "lurch" CP/M 2.2.......) :ironisk:

Actually, I can't see why a native 65xx CP/M implementation couldn't be done. Of course there'd be no software as it'd need to be ported from the Z80 source code. And running CP/M off a 1541 would pretty appalling as well.

But I'm sure it could be done. And probably better than the hack that is the C64's CP/M cartridge too.

(Just how long would it take to load WordStar on a 1541 anyway ?)

I do know for sure that the C64 CP/M cartridge doesn't work on the C128 in C64 mode. Bil Herd said so.
