Hi all

As part of my 'shoehorn a 1581 into a c128' project Im considering running the 1581 on 5V sourced internally.

My C128 power supply is an old 'brick' style, in that it looks like a C64 power supply except its grey instead of black.

It outputs 5V 4A and 9VAC 1A

I just saw a newer looking C128 supply on ebay that output 5V 2.5A and 9VAC 1A.

What does yours output?

If you can run a 128 on 5V 2.5A, Ill have no problems powering the 1581 as well  :)

thanks

Hmm, my original C128 p.s.'s are cream-colored.  They output 5V 4.3 amps and 9VAC at 1 amp, except for a p.s. manufactured in West Germany that outputs 5V 2.5 amps and 9VAC 1 amp.

Hmm, I always thought more is better.  :-)  The C128DCR has 5V at 4.4 amps, 9VAC at 1 amp, and I have an aftermarket p.s. that outputs even more (yeah, it's in the storage house).

Happy New Year!

yeh, more is better (as everything runs cooler), but 4A seems overkill for a 128 if you can run it on 2.5A.......

Ill try it, and cross my fingers.
