C16 modem

In the other thread about the 1551, it reminded me that the 16 does have an "expansion" port of some kind.  Would it be possible to run a modem out of this port?

I don't believe a C16 modem was ever produced. You would probably need to create something that went in the cartridge port which would be a rather large job.

I can't imagine there'd be much of a market for such a beast either.
