Hey guys,nice to see this one pop up too.  I recently got a C16 from Ebay, but the thing doesnt appear to work.  It didnt come with a power supply, and I know its a different (reverse - shell is positive, center is neg) supply. I did hook up a power supply, correctly as best as I can tell, and still nothing. Any ideas or tips on what I can look for to get this old fellow working again? Not that it bothers me too much... its just more a collector item that Im holding on to, but it would be great if I was to get it working again.

I found the following information on this website:

POWER: (Shown as if you were looking head-on at the connector)

   C= Plus/4                       Commodore 16 (The "BLACK VIC")

     --u--                    C= 16 9VDC, rated 1000mA / 1A, center neg.
    | 0 0 | Top 2 pins:           Probably could get away with 500mA
    |     |  9-11V AC        ___      if no tape drive is used.
    | 0 0 |                 /   \
     -|-|-                 | GND |-- +9V DC on shield. Center Ground.
      | |                   \___/
     /   \
GROUND   +5V DC  (I would expect 116/264/364 are the same as the Plus/4.)

Hope this helps!  :)

Youll probably find the TED is dead - as with most C16s.

I have one at home - the case looks like it would take a c64 mobo if modified a bit.

Thats about all theyre good for.

Is there any (easy) way to be certain it's the TED?  I have a multimeter I was planning to use to trace voltages a bit... was hoping it was nothing more than a fuse or something...

Apparently my power connection was wrong... Corrected it, and hooked the 16 up to a Commodore monitor, and it worked ok.  The amperage of the power supply is a little low, and the video was dancing around a little on the screen (when touching the power supply plug it danced even more - Im guessing this is because of either a loose connection or low amperage. Due to ohm's law, I didnt leave it connected too long with the lower amperage (300ma).  The LED didn't come on either.  May also be related to lower power.  But, it looks like its ok - just need an appropriate supply.
