Hey Lance, is there something wrong with the way members are displayed in the members area?

It seems like the columns are out of alignment from the MSN column and onwards to the right. It says that Roberts MSN is "C128D user" and that should be in the "Position"-column and "2006-06-05" should be in the "Date Registered"-column and so on, right?

What browser are you running ? Attached are screenshots for FireFox, IE8 & Chrome.

cheers,

Lance

That is odd... :(

I'm running IE8 (8.0.6001.18702), under Windows XP. But compare the image i attached and the one you attached from IE8, they are overall very different. It looks almost that I'm running another version of the forum software.

But that shouldn't be possible right?

Or is it the fact that I use Windows XP? Which Windows version are you running?

Hey, I never noticed that before (well, really, I never looked into it).  Yes, I see the same misalignment when using latest Camino, ICab, and Opera browsers on the Mac.  (Safari can't even get that far... everytime you click on Members, it does nothing.)

I haven't checked with the Lynx
text browser on the C128 yet,  :)

Just checked with Safari & Opera - no issues from this end.

And under a range of screen sizes from 1580 x 960 to 1680 x 1050.

However - if I turn off Java, it looks like what you guys posted.

I noticed and reported this also.  It seems a new field "Gender" was added to the table headers, but is not included in the table data... so all the table data is off by one column.

Edit
Using XP with IE8

Got it - you guys aren't using the SMF Curve theme.

Ah, all the columns are now lined up correctly.

A different theme... that explains the change in appearance I noticed this time I logged in. So we can blame the problem on SMF?  I find it strange that "theme" can mess up table data or table headers... should it apply only to appearance (font, colors, etc.)?  I haven't examined source of SMF so maybe there is a good reason for this... but I suspect it is a bad reason like non-modular spagetti code. I just noticed when I use "Preview" (before "Post" response) that the preview is mal-formatted :(  All line breaks are missing! Lance, you sure have a tough job, not only must you contend with different browsers and OS's, you must also contend with different themes... thanks again for your work in bringing us this site!

I agree! So Lance - thanks again!  :)  You are truly a great contributor to keeping the C128 alive! :)

Actually no - this can be blamed squarely on me - when I upgraded to this version I should have moved everyone over to the Curve theme - my bad big time  ::)

Hi there,

The new forum software has a few issues for non-IE and non-Firefox platforms

1)  Safari - Attachments (like pictures) are displayed shunted way over to the right edge of the screen.
2)  iPhone / IPod Touch Safari - the new "hover over a subject to see the text inside feature" (you know where you have the list of posts in a forum, you hover the mouse over it and it opens a window that follows the mouse as you move it along the post subject) .. that really doesn't work on my iPod, it opens the bubble window fine, but then you have to click a few times to get rid of it and into the posting proper.

Attached is a screenshot using Safari 4.0.4 - I can't see the issue you're having ?

As for iPhone - sorry, don't have one so can't check - however for mobile browsing the correct URL to use is http://www.commodore128.org/index.php?wap2 rather than http://www.commodore128.org/
cheers,
Lance

Attached is a grab from Safari 4.0.4 on my Apple Mac Mini (OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard)

See where it's put your attachment ?

I shall try out the mobile version of the site ... any chance you could put it at an easier URL ?  (mobile.commodore128.org for example ?)  It's fiddly tapping the screen to enter long URLs :-)

That's just weird - it doesn't do that with the Windows version.....

As for the URL, sorry, no - your phone should be instructing the forum that it's a phone & by default it will load the "right" page (it does with my Nokia 6300). Guessing you're the only iPhone & iPod user looking at the stats for the site :)
