Been there done that.  Bought one of the Intel Macs when they were first released.  Lovely little systems.  A little too locked down for my tastes though (Linux user since '97).  Their only real strongpoint is their iMovie software that's included...

Oh good... It's not just me then...  hehehehe

Luckily, I have an original that's in fine shape.  I really would've like to have been able to make a backup copy, but I guess I'll just have to have faith that the original disk will continue to work for as long as I need it to.

I used PaperClip a lot on the C64. But we switched to SuperScript when it came out for the C128. We could keep it in memory with SuperBase and not only would each work, they would work together. Sweet stuff. VERY powerful for the time. It beat anything DOS could do hands-down. I bought copies of each a couple of months back and loaded them up on my C128 for the first time in many years, and was still impressed with its capabilities. I mean, consider that it's 1985 and you have all this:

co-resident with SuperBase DBS
2 independent text areas
built-in spellchecker
built-in calculator
tables with row & column arithmetic
mail merge with SuperBase
label printing
print preview
menu driven
online help screens
phrase glossary for quick insert of commonly used phrases
tutorial
wide screen editing
elementary scripting

About the only thing you couldn't do is insert graphics. But NOBODY could do that back then, anyway. Great stuff.
