Should I be able to hook a 128D straight to a TV via the RF outlet using an RCA cable?

If so, why (The 40/80 column doesn't do anything. The channel select switch doesn't either) is there not a signal being emitted from the RF output.

The 128 starts normally; the drive spins for a second then stops. The power light stays on.

The Chicken Head button on the keyboard doesn't force it into 64 mode. An Epyx Fast Loader doesn't force a 40 column screen either.

EDIT>

Duh, I found my video cable (The round one with sound) now it works great, but doesn't look too good.

You do realize that the signal being transmitted by the RF output is a coaxial signal and not a composite video signal, right?  If you try plugging that into a video in composite connection on a TV, you won't see anything.  The cable is designed to be plugged into a switch box, like this:

Another option is to get yourself a small adapter that will allow you to plug the RF cable directly to your TV's coaxial input, like this:

Both of these can be readily found on eBay...

Hope this helps...

It's coming back, slowly now that I've aged 20 years.

Thanks for reminding me, I appreciate that!
