A big C64 user and Commodore fan, about to get my 1st 128 (a 128D).

I'm learning to code in Assembly on the C64, and will get started on the 128 when it arrives.

Are you part of the Commodore Computer Club UK?  They know quite a bit about C128's.  They have a website at  http://www.commodorecomputerclub.co.uk   There's a forum there, too.

Great!  I must get a lifetime membership, too, but with exchange rates being what they are, it would cost me $47.69 US.

Yeah... The same is true with the exchange rate between the US and Canadian dollars.  If I had taken my trip to Canada now rather than back in July, I would have had an extra $500 to spend there!  Oh well...

Whoa!  That is quite a significant number.  I haven't recalculated how much money I would have saved if I had gone to Europe now instead of during the summer.  (O.K., think $2K back in June-July and recalculate for today.)
     I hope the favorable exchange rate holds for a planned trip to Calgary, Canada next summer.

Whoa!  That is quite a significant number.

Yup...  I exchanged US$1300 into Canadian dollars for an exchange rate of US$1.00 = CAN$0.98 back in July.  So my $1300 became $1274 in Canadian money.  The exchange rate now is fluctuating around US$1.00 = CAN$1.25, so that same $1300 would have become $1625.  Okay, so not quite $500, but still a significant amount.

I haven't recalculated how much money I would have saved if I had gone to Europe now instead of during the summer.  (O.K., think $2K back in June-July and recalculate for today.)

Back in June-July, the exchange rate to Euros was about US$1.58 = €1.00.  So if you exchanged $2000 back then, you would have got about €1265.  Now the exchange rate is around US$1.25 = €1.00, so for that same $2000 today, you would get €1600!

I hope the favorable exchange rate holds for a planned trip to Calgary, Canada next summer.

Oooo...  Calgary is on my list of places to see one day.

Right.  The Amiga Users Club in Calgary and now I'm thinking of Lake Louise.  Who knows?  Perhaps I can make up to Edmonton again and visit Bruce Thomas of CUE and Bob Kadylo with his gargantuan collection of C= hardware!

I know of no other collection that would need several warehouses, semi-trailers, and ship containers!  :-)

Well, if you do make it up that way, you should definately shoot some photos, although it might be hard to really show the enormity of the collection.  Still, you could try.
