Speaker-to-8bits

Hi,
Only my second post, in a year and half, ....sorry...

Anyway, bought a huge lot off craigslist (boxed 128, 128d, 1571, 1581) and ton
of software.  In the bottom of one box was a RAMlink.  It was missing the power supply,
but I found the 1581 power supply works.  I can make the ramlink function, but would
love to have a manual to realize its full potential.

Anybody have a scanned version?  If not scanned, would you be willing to
xerox and mail me a copy?  I will pay all expenses plus reasonable fee.

Thanks,
Brian

RobertB

Sure, Brian.  If no one can come up with an OCR'ed version of the RAMLink manual, I can photocopy mine and send it to you.

Still photocopying.  Lots of pages to do, and I'm doing some every day.

Thanks Wiskow, I'll grab it for future use!  I do have the original that works though.

BTW, in the huge pile of disks that came with this, there are several BBS programs.
At least thats what the labels say.  You are interested in bbs stuff, right?  What
programs need to be archived yet?  (I'll go through the disks and get the
names for you).

Thanks-
Brian

I have final releases of All American, ICE, and Ivory BBS's available for download on the Cottonwood BBS website.  Bo Zimmerman has many more BBS titles available for download on his BBS website.  If you have anything that isn't available on either of our websites, I'd be very interested in getting a copy of it for archiving.

Well, right at first I see I have original disks for EBBS 128 v4.6.  Two double sided
disks, but one side (docs and misc) does not load.  I see Bo has v4.7.

I still have tons of disks to go through, many are not labeled or labeled poorly.

I'll keep you informed.

Hey, Brian, if you are reading this, I have the manual photocopied... all except the very technical and very long chapter 7.  That chapter can wait until later.  I just need your mailing address.

About 60 one-sided pages (the copier I was using didn't do two-sided copies correctly).  I wonder how much that will cost to mail.  :)

It'd be nice if that could get scanned in...  But after scanning in the entire 122-page manual for ICE BBS earlier this year, I've decided I'm done scanning in big manuals...  ;)

Yeah... and I'm not even done with copying the long, technical chapter 7 of the RL manual.

Thanks for the offer.  I'm on holiday now until Jan. 12 and am away from those materials, but when I return, I will consider your offer.  :)

At the post office I weighed the package to send to Brian in order to determine postage.  I realized that Brian's package would be the same, if I were to send it to Sweden.  Thus, I also determined postage to Sweden.  Without that chapter 7 and the cost of packing envelope, it would cost $10.30 US.

That sounds like a heavy package Robert. But if the Commodore community would appreciate a PDF'ed version of this manual it may be worth it :) What do you think, is it too much?

Nah, I've sent other packages to overseas friends, and those have cost much more.  If you are a friend, then no problem!  :)

Nice :)

I won't disappoint you when turning it into a PDF. But as we talked about earlier, one has to try and find the time for all things you want to do.

I don't think anyone would expect you to perform this feat overnight.  But when you do finish scanning it, I'd be happy to host the PDF on my server along with other CMD manuals that I have available there.
