It seems like the mouseadapter, Micromys V3, from Individual computers has reached the market. There is one on sale on ebay-US (120361015463). Does anyone know where to buy this device? Except on ebay of course :)

This device allows you to connect standard PC mice to a C64/C128. I know, it's not the first one of its kind, but this one seems to be the most sophisticated yet. It allows for joystick emulation and 1351 proportional mouse emulation with wheel extension.

Pre-2005, Protovision sold the older version of the MicroMys, but it sold out quickly and a new production run was not made (until now).  The older version, however, was just C= compatible and not Amiga nor Atari-compatible.

Since I now have a (legit) copy of IPaint, I actually find myself in need of a 1351 mouse. As an on-again, off-again collector of weird peripherals, it was on my list, anyway. It seems an odd thing to omit from such a collection, but as a non-fan of GEOS I just never had much of a need for one. Not that that has ever stopped me from bidding on some odd bit of CBM hardware in the past.

This adapter is even stranger, though, so I feel myself compelled to buy it, instead. When 30 euros free themselves up in my budget, that is.

My 1351 mouse was for Arkanoid and Arkanoid only :-)

Arkanoid supports the 1351? Now I REALLY need this device! :D

Any particular version of Arkanoid or maybe there only was one version?

If you can wait a few days, I can dig around for a 1351 mouse.  Price?  A few dollars.

I'd love to have one, Robert. No hurry. And thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I love my Atari trackball, and couldn't remember what I used to use it with. Time to download Arkanoid, which was one of my favorite games back in the day! Woo-hoo!  =D

I had forgotten how great this game is! And I've never played it with a mouse before. I didn't have one back in the "days" :)

Had no time to transfer the D64 to a real disc so I played it using VICE, sorry about that Robert ;) And thanks to the VICE guys for emulating the mouse, especially the neos mouse for this game :)

My 1351 mouse was for Arkanoid and Arkanoid only :-)
So the 1351 works with Arkanoid? I didn't get it to work in VICE. It only worked when I set the emulation to NEOS. But after all, VICE is not a real C128 :)

I have placed a D64 with Arkanoid 1, 2 and 3 here

I have a Wico trackball around here, too, but I've never used it with Arkanoid.

My Micromys V3 has arrived from Protovision :-)  7 days from order, travelling 18,000kms, to hitting my letter box .. not bad at all.

And it works great!  Only tested it in 1351 emulation so far, but with an el-cheapo optical USB mouse (with USB to P2 converter) it works great in GEOS.

Now I can safely store the 1351.

Build quality of the black case is a bit rough as it seems to just be 2 bits of plastic screwed together, I'll take it apart later and smooth off the edges .. but seems to work as advertised.

Regards

Mark

Great that you liked it, then I might dare to order one as well ;)

Have you tried it with Arkanoid?

Actually I made a mistake about Arkanoid .. Arkanoid 1 and 3 support the NEOS mouse, Arkanoid Rvenge of Doh supports NEOS and 1351.

I think I used to have a NEOS mouse bank in ye olde days .. brain is getting fuzzy with time :-)

But yes .. emulating a 1351 with Revenge of Doh works great .. except for one thing, I guess the DPI rating of the optical mouse is wwwwaaaaayyyyyyy higher than the 1351, so if you move to quick the C64 sort of loses track.

Revenge of Doh is Arkanoid 2 then? Or were there more than 3 versions of Arkanoid?

I experienced the same problem when using VICE, the C64 lost track of the mouse when I emulated the 1351/NEOS mouse and used "Grab mouse events" from the Option menu. But of course, there are a lot of hardware and software between the physical mouse and the emulator, where things can go wrong :)
