According to the Digital Press forums, the Classic Gaming Expo has been cancelled this year.  CGE was also a no-show for 2008, the last show being in 2007 in Las Vegas.  No reason has been given nor has the website at http://www.cgexpo.com been updated to reflect this fact.
CGE was a show for vintage game consoles and classic computers.  In fact, the Fresno Commodore User Group would usually have a table at CGE.

I don't think there was an FCUG table at the 2007 one though, was there?  Just checking to see if my memory is as rusty as I sometimes think it is.  ;)

That's why I said we "usually" have a table there.  2007 was the year in which CGE and CommVEx coincided on the same date.  CommVEx had priority, and thus no CGE for us that year (though I was thinking of a FCUG table at CGE at the same time we were doing CommVEx.  The problem would have been who would man it.)

Nothing that a bit of rust jelly wouldn't cure.  ;)  FWIW, Joe Santulli of CGE contacted me after that weekend and offered to combine CGE with CommVEx, i.e., we'd use his facilities, have more people see our C= stuff, etc..  I responded with the pitfalls of combining the two shows together and asked for more information.  He never wrote back, and I went ahead with CommVEx 2008 planning.  Good thing, too, because CGE 2008 never came to be.

ah yes... it's all coming back to me now!  ;)

I remember you talking about the prospective of combining CGE and CommVEx, and I remember thinking that if the "kinks" were worked out, that could've been great.  Too bad that CGE hasn't happened for two years running now.  I hope 2007 wasn't the last one because I really wanted to go to one!

No word yet if there will be a Vintage Computer Festival in Mountain View, CA this year.  After the last TOGA meeting, I was talking to Ken Summeral of the Computer History Museum and asked him if he received any word from the VCF organizer, Sellam Ismail (the CHM is the venue for VCF).  He said he hasn't heard anything from Sellam.

It would be bad if there were no VCF again,
