At the William Shatner Weekend (this weekend, obviously), Bill Shatner autographed a British PAL Plus4 and a On the Edge book for me.   ...And this time he didn't bat an eye!  ;)  Thank you to Jane Singer of CBS/Paramount, Sandy Morruzzi of Disney, and the rest of Shatner & Friends, Int'l. for a great time.

Catch the above Plus4 at CommVEx v5,

I myself would not cross the street to shit on Shatner.

Why? I live just a few miles up the road from Riverside, IA: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/news/9619

At this point I expect he is used to all sorts of weirdos at trek gatherings.
So, I'm surprised at lack of response.

What I can't figure out is why people keep showing up to see this guy.

Ah, you must have been around when Shatner and company filmed Invasion, Iowa there a few years ago.

I find this comment very petty of you.  Most people at the trek gatherings are there simply to enjoy themselves and have some fun.  I suppose anyone enjoying themselves and having fun must be a weirdo in your eyes.  ::)

At this Trek gathering we rubbed shoulders with the cast of the new Star Trek movie (and I mean rubbed shoulders, because some SFI members had their photos taken with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, etc. and all for the asking.  I, on the other hand, was too shy to go up directly to them and ask for a photo).  :)  Their photos and/or video to be posted later.
However, the William Shatner Weekend has a more serious note.  It is when Bill puts on the Hollywood Charity Horseshow.  We SFI members, along with hundreds of attendees, and the stars gathered more than $15,000 for the charities, Ahead with Horses and Camp Max Straus.  Ahead with Horses is a horse-riding program for developmentally-challenged children.  Camp Max Straus is a summer camp program for inner-city children.  Both are very worthy causes, and every year I gladly have my Commodore items signed by Bill, knowing that the money gained by those autographs go to the children.  http://www.aheadwithhorses.org   http://www.campmaxstraus.org

I have been corrected by Jane Singer.  The $15,000 came from us SFI members.  In addition to ours, the stars and hundreds of attendees gathered a great deal more money.

I guess after all these years, he's finally gotten used to seeing you approaching him with your Commodore relics.  ;)

Payday on Thursday... another donation to make,

While everyone is in the donating mood, May 9th will be the 3rd consecutive year that my wife and I will be participating in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, which raises money to help fight women's cancers.  You can check out my page on their website to learn more about it and to sponsor me by making a donation to a very worthwhile cause.  :)

A most worthy cause, Andrew!  I'd like to make a pledge, but I don't want to use my credit card on the form.  Is their another way to donate?

As a matter of fact, there is a way to send in a donation by mail.  You can print out the following PDF file:
http://www.revlonrunwalk.com/la/pdf/Donation.pdf
Just fill it out, and mail it in, and you can put down my name under "Registrant's Name" and my BIB #, which is 16823.  Thanks!  :)
