I'm sure it's possible, but because the PET, VIC, and C64 user ports all have different pinouts I'd double check which are connected on the VICREL before attempting to plug it in. It does look like the DATA lines are the same, but the first 12 (top connectors) have various voltages and special lines that will likely cause problems.
