Hi Guys
I am  the proud owner of a new (to me) 8032 Pet, I've been a fan since playing 'Halls Of Doom' on one back in the early 80's.

I was wondering if anyone could assist with any advice, when powered on the PET displays that it has 21 bytes free.

I have tried reseating all the socketed IC's to no avail and thought I would seek some advice before delving into the circuitry.

Many thanks

Glyn

8032... IIRC the 8032 MB's RAM is in a line, not two rows (makes it a bit harder)  but if it like the older PETs each 16k is eight chips so by swapping the RAMs between the 16K banks you can move the defective RAM to the second bank and increase your memory to 16k (which makes it usable till you can get some spare RAMs to replace with).

Trivia: swapping RAMs between banks was in the Original PET manual under troubleshooting - the original PET RAM chips were pretty flaky.
