"SymbOS (SYmbiosis Multitasking Based Operating
System) is a new OS for Z80 based systems and is
currently available for the Amstrad CPC and the MSX2
computers and compatible systems.

SymbOS is based on a micro-kernel-architecture. It
provides real preemptive multitasking, a dynamic
memory-management for up to 576KB Ram, a totaly
Windows-like GUI and support of hard discs with up to
128GB.

This group is dedicated to the SymbOS operating
system. You will get actual information about the
development-progress and can freely discuss about
SymbOS and the supported Z80 computers."

Wonder if a port to the 128 is possible ?

Pretty damn impressive for a CPC.  Alot more than can be said for alot of 80s GUI attempts.  GEOS well, that speaks for itself ;-).
When God created light, so too was born, the first Shadow!

Amazing piece of work. How come GEOS never had a movie player? :D

Too bad the OS itself seems to be closed-source, though I can understand him wanting to protect his work. There are still quite a few devices being made with Z80 family processors, so it's conceivable someone looking for a multitasking kernel might pay to license part of his system.
