Let's see... I have a C-128 (flat), an Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, Amiga 2000, and a CDTV.
Only the C-128 and Amiga 1200 are hooked up and used regularly.  I do love my old retro games. =)

Isn't that what it displays when the system is trying to boot into 80 column mode, but the monitor is set to 40 column mode?

It worked on my end, too.  Was a bit slow loading the first time I visited it, but I guess it's cached all the necessary graphics and loads great now.  I can hardly wait for the other sections to be populated.

Herdware / Re: Connect to TV

Back in the Commodore heydays, a friend of mine had his C128 setup the same way; to an old TV.  He always had large wavy purple lines on the display when he used it.  We finally tracked his issue down to the flourescent light he had mounted on his computer desk.  When it was on, it caused some kind of RF interference.  Once he changed the light for another, the issue went away.

While I doubt your issue is the same, it might be worth considering and looking into.

Happy New Year to you all as well!  May the light shine brighter on our beloved Commodores in the new year (without yellowing their cases!)  :skratta:

Yeah, I have 2 128's (one is flaky and has a bad PS), 3 1541's, 2 1571's, 2 1541-II's, a 1581, a tape drive, a 1750 REU, 1530 mouse (bleah), 1702 and 1084S monitors, and a printer too.  Most of it is even set up and used from time to time, mostly for old games which I love! :D  Also have a couple of carts I use regularly, like Epyx Fastload and Turbo Load & Save

I had a 64 as well, but sold it near the beginning of the month to a good home for use in SID creation. :)

It's so awesome to have some C64 gaming, while out on the road though.  Long live emulators on laptops! :tummenupp:

I got a new laptop, which will get VICE installed on it... does that count as something C= related under the tree for Xmas? :D

C / Other / Anyone have Power C 128 ?
October 24, 2007, 08:16 AM
Is it Power C by Better Working software, that you're looking for?  I have it, still boxed with manual and discs for both C64 and C128.  Feel free to drop me a PM if it is.

Might anyone be interested in a boxed copy of Better Working Power C?  It has the manual and both disks (one for C64, one for C128) included, so I believe it is complete.  I'm not really into programming any longer, and never used it much.  Please PM with offers, if interested.

TIA

Shouldn't Ultima V be under the enhanced in 128 mode category?  All the 128 adds is the music to the game... at least that's what I was understanding about it.

Thanks for all the great info, folks.  It's really appreciated.

A friend had an old CGA/EGA extension cable in his collection and that worked GREAT for the RGB monitor.

I also managed to get my hands on a whole working C128 system with a good power supply, so my only real concern now (and it was the most minor one), is to find a fastload cart for the 128.  I'm in no rush for this, but have a few lead to check out.

You guys are great, and again I thank you for your help.

Quote from: JamesC1. I don't think I have any extras, but I'll check later today.

2. I use an extension cable that I found at MicroCenter: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0200562 My monitor is a C= 2002 and uses the 9-pin sub-D connector that is found on the 128. When you say 8 pin, are you talking the round connector?

3. I know I have one (and only one) but I'll have to get it out to see what name/manufacturer it is.
Thanks!  Iappreciate your time in checking about the power supply, James.

My current power supply is making some awful buzzing noise, so I think it is dead/dying.  I won't use it anymore for fear of frying the 128 itself.  It obviously is my first concern, because without a power supply, the 128 is just a rather big doorstop. :|

Oops!  You're right about the monitor cable, I meant 9 pin to 9 pin.  Silly fingers mistyped on me. :)  I'll check that link you supplied.

I'm not too worried about the fastloader if I can't find the first two items, though.

Looking for the following items in the US:

1. Power supply for flat style c128

2. RGB cable to connect c128 to 1084s (8pin to 8pin)

3. Fast loader cart for c128 (already have 2 for C64)

Thanks in advance for any info or leads (not ebay, please)
