Hi,
I have similar problem. When I'm trying to power on C128DCR I get black screen or some weird characters like @ and chess board all over the screen. One attempt on about 30 I get lucky and C128DCR boots correctly. Can anybody can help what is causing it?

Yes, this keyboard sucks, but it was easy to repair The main advantage was that it was sa small and the most important: it was my first computer

Today I have compared it to plus4 and the difference was much more visible than I have expected. I really like this one

Hmmm, I was just looking into forums and noticed that in the title of this forum there is no C116 included. I know that C116 was just a C16 with gummy keyboard and a bit smaller but it was also produced and it was my first computer C116 is also part of 264 series
