I just got a PET 2001-32N and 2040 dual disk drive.  The computer works, but unfortunately I don't have the cable to attach the computer to the drives.  I have a IEEE to IEEE cable, but no edge connector to IEEE.  If anyone would care to swap, please send me an e-mail: ambradley at mail dot com.

Or send a message if you're in the greater Sacramento, CA area and will let me try your cable.

I also got a purple iMac and Macintosh Performa (both sans keyboard) in the deal, and would be willing to swap them for other C= related stuff

it's wierd, I keep seeing this over and over.
I, like you, am in the same boat. I got my CBM 8032 and 8050 about a month or so ago, and I have been trying to find a cable also. Man, it seems harder to find a cable, then it does a complete working Pet and Disk drive.
what ever happens, good luck. I have e-mailed about a dozen different places that supossibly have cables and none have ever gotten back.

Ack!  Not even HSC Electronics?  So much for customer service...  :/  I won't be in the area of that store until mid-May.  I'll then dig through their shelves, looking for a cable for you.

A Google search for "IEEE 488 cable" brings up over 600 hits including (right now, at least) a half dozen or more on the eBays for about $10 each.

Edit: Duh. Just remembered the PET has an edge card connector on the back.  ::)

I have already replied to a PM from ambradley that I'd sell him a suitable cable for $25 including worldwide postage. Since the postage equals $15, it means the cable itself brings me $10.
