The forum site has moved into 100th place on Punres's 'Biggest PunBB Sites' (pretty impressive considering we are supporting a 20+ year old computer!)

Here's the latest stats from that site :

Now admittedly the main VIC20 [url=http://sleepingelephant.com/denial/index.html]forum
is doing better (shame guys! our machine is much better!), but they've also been around a lot longer.  We won't even mention any of the sites that support the C128's inferior predecessor ;)

Denial is a great forum. :)
Call me Golan; my parents did.

Denial is also getting some huge traffic due to some active hardware projects.  Other than the VGA adapter, we haven't seen anything 128-specific in a long, long time.

Yeah....   think we need to start small though rather than an all in one solution as has been suggested.

For instance, an internal hard drive (SCSI for other things to put on the bus) for the D would be on top of my wishlist.

In all seriousness, I think the biggest problem with the 128 that needs hardware projects is a fast mass storage solution that doesn't involve a CMD branded device.  If you're a serious 128 user, there's no replacement for a CMD HD.  IDE64 would be ideal if they'd update the firmware to support native 128 mode.

Further on this, the 128 was orphaned long, long ago. The amount of 128 specific hardware & software even at the time it was being produced was negligible. Even the VIC was better supported (including after it had been withdrawn from the market).

So, we have 20 years of no development to catch up on basically with little or no prior developed "stuff" to work with as a base. We also have the limited numbers of C128's available as a problem as well - what was it 20m C64's sold to 2m 128's ? Interestingly though a large number of the remaining  C= 8 bit users have a 128.

Unfortunately the limited developer sources remaining seem to devote their efforts only to the somewhat inferior C64, so we in the 128 community are left with only one or two people still actively doing work (like Fotios here in Australia).

Unfortunately when it comes to hardware I have 14 thumbs & no imagination.....

Probably the main reason I started this forum was because there was no coherent support for the 128. I believe that has[/] changed (even if only a little bit) since the inception of these forums.

cheers,
