Wow... I wish someone had come out with that before I sold my 64HDD Pro...  Maybe I'll have to buy another one.  ;)

The domain has been restored and so has this thread.
Call me Golan; my parents did.

Hey, Andrew.  You'll have to contact Alan Reed directly for 64NAV.  The website seems to be gone.

If you don't have his contact info, I have it,

Like Golan said, the website appears to be working now.

Hi Robert,

Just tonight  1-3-09  I logged onto the 8-bit central website just fine with no problems.

Like Terry said above and which I posted hours before Golan (and which got deleted by someone), the website seems to be up and running.

Actually I was able to get to it even when you guys were saying it was replaced with a spam links site. I suspect it might have been issues with North American DNS servers maybe ?

Irregardless, this thread should not have been locked, nor should the original post have been modified to strike out the link without investigating why the link couldn't be reached from some areas of the world (not all).

As just about everyone here is aware I take a very light hand at censoring anything (usually I just delete posts by spam bots or move topics to the correct areas).

This seems to have been a temporary hiccup & should not have devolved to the point where I have been asked to step in.

We are (assumingly) all adults here - our hobby is tiny these days, there isn't room for factionalism, infighting etc. This was one of the primary reasons I set up this forum - 1) to provide a niche market that wasn't already being filled & 2) because I was tired of the crap that sometimes goes down in comp.sys.cbm where people sometimes get shouted down (even when they are providing a service to the C=- community).

Let's all try & keep things friendly & keep personal differences away from the 128 forums shall we ?

Remember back a year or so ago when someone (a prolific poster) left because he took offence at comments that were being made on the forum ? Our community is too small to alienate people. That was one of the two primary reasons that I swapped us to SMF - so that users could block each other out if they wanted to (wasn't possible under PunBB).

Some simple rules:

Keep things polite
Keep things friendly
Treat other members exactly the same way that you wish to be treated
Don't assume anything without proper investigation

My apologies for hijacking the thread.

Yes, golden rules that I try to follow (though I fail every once in awhile... hey, I'm human).  :)
