One of my next projects will be to modify an internal 8032 keyboard mechanism to work with a 8032-SK through attaching a DB25. Does anyone have ready-made schematics of either keyboard? I do own a working 8032-SK keyboard, so at worst I could check with a multimeter which key generates a signal on which pin, or perhaps open it up and follow the wires. I briefly looked at Zimmers, but didn't find anything. Perhaps I didn't look closely enough.

Does all 8032-SK contain a real 8032 motherboard with a bunch of dongles and internal adaptors? Currently I have a such PET at home, and it surprised me a bit when I put it apart. I know the 8096 and 8296 series have custom made motherboards for the SK design, but perhaps not the 8032 (also known as PET 200 in Sweden). This machine has a dongle from internal to DB25, so I suppose what I'd do with the other keyboard is to reverse the dongle.

In another century, I'll try to adapt some keyboard for the B-series too. I believe that is a bit more tricky, but perhaps Jim Brain's C=Key will be possible to use. Currently I have three CBM 710's, but only one keyboard which I have been tempted with a very nice offer if I'd sell it, but I'm unsure if I rather should keep it.

Hi,

I have an 8032-SK and yes, it's a standard 8032 "universal pet" board wedged in. The board is rotated so that the back of the motherboard is to the left, requiring extensions to bring the IEEE and User ports to the back. Also, due to the size, the motherboard is significantly raised above the bottom of the case. There is an extension for the keyboard. I also have an 8296 which uses the same keyboard/connector.

If you need pics of anything let me know.

I'm sure you can find keyboard details on zimmers and/or perhaps Andre Fachat's pet pages.
